LHE's Proven Technology Delivers a Wide Variety of Benefits
How Does LHE Photoepilation
Work?
The innovative LHE technology is based on the principle of selective photothermolysis,
in which light is selectively absorbed in the hair shaft and hair follicle,
without damaging the surrounding skin. The hair shaft and the hair follicle
contain more pigment than the surrounding skin tissue. Therefore they absorb
more light, causing the temperature to rise along with the heat to the point of
coagulation. The coagulation damages the hair follicle and prevents or delays
regrowth.
What Does the treatment include?
The hair to be treated will be trimmed to a length of 1mm to 3mm. The handpiece
will be slightly pressed to the treatment area. Then, a pulsed-light will be
delivered. Each pulse covers an area of 2cm by 5cm. This is a large area (the
largest spot size on the market) and therefore the treatment is fast and
effective for large body areas such as legs and arms.
What kind of results can I expect to see from a treatment?
LHE photoepilation offers the long-lasting results you can expect from a
leading high-tech hair removal device. Some mild to moderate redness may occur
immediately after treatment, but this usually disappears within the first 24
hours. Otherwise, there is minimal discomfort and few, if any, side effects. To
achieve optimal results, several treatments are generally needed, with the
exact number treatments varying from patient to patient.
Why does a patient need to have several treatments?
Hair growth occurs in a three-part growth cycle: active, dormant, and
transitional. To maximize the removal and delay of regrowth, hair must be
treated while in the active phase. Since each hair on the body has its own
individual cycle, a course of treatments over time disables each hair follicle
while in its active growth phase.
What areas of the body can be treated?
Virtually any body area can be treated. LHE
photoepilation systems use large spots sizes, enabling quick treatment of even
the largest body areas.
Who is a candidate for treatment?
LHE Photoepilation allows safe treatment of all skin types (Fitzpatrick Skin
Types I-VI) and most hair colors. Different skin types and hair colors simply
require different energy settings.
Does it hurt?
The degree of discomfort varies with each person, depending on his/her
sensitivity. The sensation may be anything from painless to tolerable sting.
Anesthetic creams may be applied.
How long does a treatment take?
A treatment session typically takes between several minutes up to an hour for
very large body areas. The total number of sessions needed depends on the size
of the area to be treated, the thickness of the hair growth and your skin type.
Are there any side effects?
The treated area may become slightly pink or red immediately after treatment.
This may last within a few hours. All patients can continue with their daily
routine immediately after treatment.
How often will I need to repeat the treatment series?
LHE, like other light-based hair removal technologies, results in significant
long-term hair removal. However, the rate at which new hair follicle growth
will result varies from person to person and from body part to body part.
What are the advantages of the LHE photoepilation treatment?
The treatment provides all advantages of light-based hair removal treatment at
an affordable price. After the treatment there is a significant reduction in
the amount of hair. The few hairs that grow back come in slower, lighter and
thinner. In addition, the exceptionally large spot size results in quicker
treatment time.

What is photorejuvenation?
Photorejuvenation is a relatively new process that uses pulsed light and heat
energy (LHE) to fade or eliminate benign pigmented spots and vascular lesions
while diminishing the size of pores, sun damage, and fine lines and wrinkles.
Consequently, the skin becomes smoother, with a younger appearance.
How does LHE reduce the signs of photodamage?
LHE photorejuvenation selectively targets abnormal changes that develop with
age Photorejuvenation results in the formation of new collagen in the dermis
and the elimination of spots and lesions, giving the skin a smoother texture
and a younger look. The results are gradual and cumulative, so that there is no
startling change in the appearance of your face.
How many treatments are required?
Typically several treatments are required for a full facial treatment. The
average treatment takes about 10 minutes. Results may become apparent after the
first few treatments.
What are the causes of hyper-pigmentation (increase in skin pigmentation)?
Hyper-pigmentation may either be due to increased melanin deposition in the
epidermis or dermis. Epidermal pigmentary disorders respond well to treatment
while dermal pigmentation may take a long time to lighten.

What is acne ?
Acne, commonly known as 'pimples' is a chronic inflammatory disorder of the
sebaceous gland present in the skin. In mild to moderate cases, there may be
black heads (comedones), white heads (papules) or pustules. In severe cases,
there are nodules, cysts and abscess which lead to scarring if not treated on
time.
Does acne occur only in teenagers?
Acne is more common in the age group of 13 - 30 years but it may occur or
persist even beyond this age limit. Males are more frequently affected than
females.
How Does LHE acne phototherapy work?
LHE technology uses the green light in order to achieve maximum penetration
into the sebaceous gland without compromising the process of activating the
porphyrins that initiate the anti-bacterial process resulting in the P.Acne
destruction. LHE provides a highly effective tool for rapidly clearing acne
without side effects, patients discomfort, photosensitivity or downtime.
Does it work on all types of acne?
LHE acne phototherapy is ideal for treating the redness associated with mild to
moderate acne and cystic acne.
How many treatments are required?
Results are seen within three to four weeks. A typical treatment regimen
consists of 8 treatments over a 4-week period. Each treatment takes about 10-15
minutes.
Frustrating, isolating, unrelenting. A heartbreaking disease
that can negatively impact relationships, careers and social life. You hope,
you pray, but most of all you worry. When will it flare up again? How bad will
it be treated this time? You try not to think about it, but it's always there, a
destructive cycle that never seems to end.
Medicine in its search for effective treatment options prescribes a host of
topical, systemic and ultraviolet light therapies that are complicated,
unpredictable and often ineffective.
New developments in light-based therapy, however, are finally able to offer a
realistic alternative. LHE, a visible light spectrum phototherapy that
effectively combines the healing energy of Light and Heat, quickly and
completely stops the itch and helps clear Psoriasis lesions*. No creams,
steroids or UV Light that can potentially cause devastating side effects, LHE
is an ultra-safe technology that can be used whenever needed.

LHE Phototherapy All the Benefits Without the Burn
Exciting developments in the field of selective photothermolysis have led to
new benefits for psoriasis sufferers. For the first time, LHE makes available
all the advantages of natural sunlight, indeed of any light or laser treatment,
without the harmful side effects.
UVA or UVB phototherapy use large-scale lamps to irradiate the entire body. LHE
pinpoints and treats only those areas affected by Psoriasis. Using light from
the visible spectrums further avoids dangerous UV exposure.
LHE Why it Works
In non-psoriatic skin the cells grow and move to the surface where they are
sloughed off at a steady unnoticeable rate, talking about one month.
In psoriatic skin, this cycle is speeded up to only three or four days. As the
skin thickens with extra cells, the blood vessels that support them grow larger
in order to feed them. Dead skin cells pile up on the surface creating a white,
flaky layer over the patch of inflamed skin.
To combat Psoriasis, LHE targets the blood vessels that feed the abnormal
growth of psoriatic skin cells. Using intense flashes of visible spectrum green
and yellow light shrink and eliminate the blood vessels, LHE effectively closes
the supply line and shuts down the process.
